Steinertone Rebuilt 9'4 Concert Grand Piano #12031
In 1905, the revolutionary Model CC was the largest, longest, widest, heaviest and arguably the finest piano in the world! This rare piano is part of the very first pair of 18 crafted.
Only 18 Model CC 9’4″ Concert Grand Pianos were built between 1905 and 1912 by Mason & Hamlin Co. They were produced in 9 identical pairs: one saying “Mason & Hamlin” over the keys, and the other saying “Steinertone” (since this was a joint venture between Mason & Hamlin and the Steiner Piano Company).
This specific Steinertone piano was part of the very first pair and later, was extensively studied by engineers from Mason & Hamlin, when they wanted to re-introduce their flagship concert grand.
The CC has been world-renowned for it’s incredibly warm, clear, rich tone—especially in the bass section—and for its revolutionary design, utilizing “sweet spots” nearer the center of the soundboard for all the strings. The last publically-seen Model CC was sold in the 2010s for $250,000.
The centerpiece of our old performance venue, our Steinertone was recorded/performed on by top artists for over 10 years, who were all unanimous in their rave reviews of it.
This magnificent instrument was carefully rebuilt in 2006, yet still has the original soundboard (“soul”), and the original ivories for a luxurious feel.
